Former BOT Member, Engineer Oyekemi drags BOT members and NEC members of UNIOSUN alumni to EFCC

In a shocking twist to the ongoing saga of financial misappropriations within the Osun State University Alumni Association, former BOT member, Engineer Oyekemi, has taken a decisive step by petitioning the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against certain members of the Board of Trustees (BOT) and the National Executive Council (NEC) of the association.

This development comes on the heels of recent revelations implicating former President Oriola Oladipupo, former General Secretary Basit Abubakar, and other key individuals in a scheme to mismanage alumni funds. The earlier report, which highlighted accusations of funds being funneled into personal projects and even proof of funds for international travel, has now escalated, with Engineer Oyekemi calling for further investigation into the matter.

Sources suggest that Engineer Oyekemi’s move may have been spurred by new evidence of financial improprieties, which allegedly extends beyond just the former NEC members. BOT members, including key figures in the association’s leadership, are also now under scrutiny for their roles in what is shaping up to be a complex web of corruption and abuse of office.

The petition alleges that funds meant for alumni association projects were siphoned into personal accounts, with some even going towards personal celebrations such as weddings and naming ceremonies. The EFCC, already involved in investigating the earlier allegations, is expected to broaden its inquiry to cover these new claims.

Sources affirm that the case is not looking good for the current President (Abubakar Abullbasit) and the former President (Oriola) as their visit to the EFCC’s office did not go as they envisioned it would be a breeze. The Board of Trustee members are also under scrutiny for seeming connivance in the matter.
